A woman died as a result of what police are calling a tragic accident in Cornwall-on-Hudson Tuesday.

Police were called to the home of 53-year-old Karen Bowman around 9 a.m. Tuesday after her body was discovered by a family member. Police initially treated the scene as a homicide, stopping cars and questioning neighbors.

Later police concluded there was no foul play involved in Bowman?s death. They say she likely fell while carrying a sharp object, which cut a main artery and caused her to bleed to death.
