Clarkstown police investigate rash of car break-ins

Police are increasing patrols in Upper Nyack and Valley Cottage after a rash of car break-ins.
Police say most of the cars were unlocked in the two neighborhoods. Residents had cell phones, iPods, cameras and cash stolen from their vehicles. In Upper Nyack, police say two bicycles were also stolen from a front porch.
Police are advising residents to keep their cars locked. Anyone who sees anything suspicious is asked to contact the Clarkstown Police Department at 845-639-5800.
