Grandfather, cousin enter different pleas in death of Orange teenager

Two family members charged in connection with the death of a 13-year-old boy during a hunting trip entered two different pleas at the Orange County Courthouse Thursday.
The victim?s cousin, Jake Kingston, took a plea bargain of negligent manslaughter offered by prosecutors. Wayne Kingston, the victim?s grandfather, pleaded not guilty to manslaughter. Jake Kingston will face almost half the jail time by taking the plea.Prosecutors say David Kingston was shot in the back by his grandfather during a hunting trip in Sparrowbush in November. He was then left alone for more than an hour while his grandfather and cousin continued hunting. The boy?s father believes his son would still be alive if his father and nephew got him medical assistance sooner.
