Clarkstown police probe mystery of popping noises, blood but no victim

Police are investigating a suspicious incident Wednesday at a Nanuet condominium complex where residents heard popping noises and authorities discovered blood.

Residents at the Tudor Hill Condo complex say they were woken up at 4 a.m. by the sound of popping noises. Some residents told police they saw the body of a woman being thrown into a car. When police arrived both the woman and the car were gone. Police did discover at purse, shoes and blood at the scene.

Detectives have gotten conflicting reports from residents, but are investigating all the scenarios. Anyone will information is asked to contact the Clarkstown Police Department at 845-639-5800
