Bankrate.com released its 2017 "Best and Worst States to Retire" list, a ranking of states according to their cost of living, crime rate, health care quality, tax burden, personal well-being for seniors and weather. In 2016, New York ranked dead-last on the list. This year, it improved to a fairly more respectable spot at No. 37.
