MOUNT VERNON -

A popular strip club in Mount Vernon is closing its doors for good.

A sign has been posted on the door of Sue's Rendezvous on Gramatan Avenue that says the club is shutting down.

Owner Gaetano Gizzo says he is closing after 45 years because of a combination of legal troubles and changing clientele.

Over the years, Sue's had a reputation for being a big party spot, even being mentioned in several rap songs. While some sports and entertainment celebrities were known to visit Sue's, the strip club was not without its problems.

Last October, a woman was shot outside Sue's after a fight inside the club spilled into the street.

There's no word yet on whether the owner plans to reopen Sue's at a different location or what will happen with the building.
