WHITE PLAINS -

Portions of Westchester County's emergency phone system crashed Monday morning.

News 12 is told that a hardware issue caused the problem just after 8 a.m.

However, authorities say Westchester's 911 system is still functioning.

State police say the public should not be alarmed and that all 911 calls were being handled by their backup systems.
