SCARSDALE -

A Scarsdale couple were awoken to masked men invading their home early Wednesday morning, according to police.

The break-in happened around 2 a.m. on Berwick Road. Investigators say the husband and wife victims told detectives they were in bed sleeping when they suddenly heard the sounds of the two masked men running through their house.

Police say the homeowners confronted the suspects, and then an altercation ensued. The suspects ran off and the wife called police.

There was no word on whether anything was pilfered from the home.

A Westchester County police K-9 unit was brought in to help Scarsdale police search the area as investigators processed the scene and collected evidence.

People living in the neighborhood say they were shaken up by the break-in and vow to take precautions to protect their homes.

Anyone with information is asked to call Scarsdale police.
