Dozens turn out for “Walk for Women Veterans”

Dozens of people laced up their sneakers to help female veterans this weekend in Pleasantville.
The first annual “Walk for Women Veterans” kicked off at Pace University to honor and recognize female service members.
Organizers say women make up 15 percent of our military. "As a Vietnam era veteran, it's a little different for me because we didn't experience the traumatic experience like the younger veterans are experiencing where they can go in a war zone. So it's important to me that someone represent them with sexual assault and PTSD and all the ravages of war," says U.S. Navy veteran J. Gayle.
The Barbara Giordano Foundation sponsored the event. The group provides holistic health and education programs to help women veterans and their families. They hope the walk becomes an annual event.
