Memorial Day may be over, but that didn't stop a Spring Valley school from hosting one last ceremony.
Spring Valley High School students and teachers came together to honor Navy veteran Maureen Morgan.
Morgan, who is the American Legion commander in Rockland County, is now a member of the New York Veterans Hall of Fame. “It's a great honor. It's a privilege, a pleasure, not something I was expecting. It’s very humbling because there are more veterans out there that are so deserving of this award.”
Morgan served for four years after graduating Spring Valley High School, where she currently works as a guidance counselor.
