Neighbors of road rage stabbing suspect unsettledPosted: Updated:
A fatal road rage encounter on the Taconic State Parkway involving a young man from Dutchess County has left many neighbors unsettled.
Christian Walczyk, 21, allegedly stabbed Daniel Siino, a 28-year old man from Hartsdale, to death near mile marker 6.6 in Mount Pleasant Saturday, according to investigators.
"I was not expecting that from somebody from around here," says Heather Loguercio, of Langrangville.
Walczyk was driving a BMW south around 10:30 p.m. before he and Siino pulled over. Police have released few details about the encounter, other than the deadly outcome and that Siino was driving an Acura.
Walczyk graduated Arlington High School in Langrangville in 2014. Former classmates say he had an aggressive personality, and his arrest record shows that he was charged with disorderly conduct last week by Poughkeepsie police after a violent altercation at a bar there. He pleaded not guilty to that charge.
"He was always chill with me, but when you got him off his rocker he would blow up," recounts Justin Gonzalez, a student at Arlington.
In the latest incident, Walczyk faces a charge of manslaughter. He's due in court on Thursday.
