State police have arrested a man who they say is responsible for Sunday's deadly hit-and-run in Rockland County.

Investigators say Scott Spooner, 59, a tractor-trailer driver, fatally struck Paul Peacock as he was walking near the Ramapo rest area around 4 a.m. Sunday.

Police later found Spooner's damaged truck at a nearby travel center.

Spooner is charged with leaving the scene of that accident and is currently in the Rockland County Jail.
