Child murder suspect appears in courtPosted: Updated:
A New Rochelle man accused of killing his 7-year-old daughter appeared before a judge this morning.
Neil White, 47, was arraigned in New Rochelle City court last week on one count of murder in the second degree in the suffocation death of his 7-year-old daughter Gabrielle White. He pleaded not guilty, but is being held in jail without bail.
White and his wife, Michelle Hord-White, a New York television executive, are separated. She filed for divorce back in April, and the two shared custody of their daughter.
It was last Tuesday when Gabrielle's baby sitter grew concerned over a text exchange with Neil White. She went to his home at 3 Arbor Glenn and found him with slash wounds to both arms. She also found an unresponsive Gabrielle. The baby sitter called 911, but Gabrielle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The case is still under investigation. It will most likely be moved over to Westchester County court.
Neil White could face 25 years to life in state prison if he is eventually found guilty of murdering his daughter.
