A battle between bus drivers at Tarrytown public schools has led to one driver returning after a hunger strike and the alleged aggressor being suspended.

Jose Cordero, the suspended bus driver who maintains his innocence, says that he has never missed a day of work over nine years and three months on the job.

Cordero was suspended by Tarrytown Public Schools, and he says he has done nothing wrong. Cordero blames his suspension on Tony Tula. Tula is a bus driver who was initially suspended and went on a hunger strike, claiming Cordero choked him. Cordero denies the allegation.

Tula returned to work Monday.

A police report from their dispute back in May indicates the two were involved in minor pushing.

“There was no choking or smacking, or rumors he's spreading,” says Cordero.

News 12 asked the school district what led to Cordero's suspension. A spokesperson says the district won't comment on personnel matters.
