A 14-year-old boy died after he fell down an elevator shaft at an abandoned hospital in Port Chester on Tuesday, police say.
Police say Chris Aguilar fell through the roof at the old United Hospital property on Boston Post Road.
Investigators say Aguilar and several other teens had gotten onto the fenced property and climbed to the roof just after 8 p.m. when the accident happened.
Officials say Aguilar fell through the roof and plunged five floors in the elevator shaft.
A police officer had to be dropped down by a harness to get to the boy.
By the time the officer got to him, officials believe it had been two hours since the fall.
Aguilar later was pronounced dead at Greenwich Hospital.
