Wire damage causes Metro-North delays on New Haven line
Posted: Updated:Overhead wire damage in the vicinity of the Cos Cob station in Connecticut was the cause of some massive delays on Metro-North's New Haven line Thursday, officials say.
At some points passengers were waiting more than two hours for trains and some trains were even canceled.
Commuters were frustrated by the delays, but said they had to get to work so there was no choice but to sit and wait.
"It affects me professionally," says Anthony Robinson, a commuter. "People think I'm not responsible."
There were still some delays of about 20 minutes on the New Haven line early Thursday evening. By 9 p.m., officials said service on the New Haven line was operating on or close to schedule.
Authorities say the damage has been repaired and that Metro-North riders should have a smoother commute Friday morning.
