Contested play leads to bizarre finish between Boulders, Cuba

There was a bizarre finish Thursday night between the Rockland Boulders and the Cuban National Team.
In the top of the ninth inning, with the Boulders ahead 6-5 in the third game of their international series, a controversial play resulted in the second out of the inning.
A Cuban player was called out at second base after the Boulders contested that he had interfered with the play.
After the umpires huddled and ruled in favor of Rockland, the Cuban coaching staff became livid – kicking dirt on the umpires and bumping them.
The umpires then left the field, resulting in a forfeit win for the Boulders.
