SPRING VALLEY -

Police have identified the cab driver who was shot in Spring Valley Monday.

Ramapo police say family members have confirmed that the taxi driver was 23-year-old Rem Louis. Police say Louis was driving a cab for America Latina Taxi on North Myrtle Avenue when he was shot.

Police say Louis crashed into a tree moments after he was shot. He was taken to Nyack Hospital and then transferred to Westchester Medical Center.

The victim's brother says he is still in the hospital surrounded by family. They believe he's going to pull through.

Police are still searching for a suspect.
