A wake was held Wednesday for Sgt. Owen Lennon, a Rockland native killed earlier this month in a military plane crash in Mississippi.
The KC-130 aircraft went down in the Mississippi Delta back on July 10. Fifteen Marines and a Navy corpsman perished.
Nine Marines on board, including the 26-year-old Lennon, were stationed at Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh.
Lennon, a Pomona native and graduate of Ramapo High School, was a decorated Marine and recognized 15 times for achievement during his military career.  He was living in Montgomery with his fianceé when he took his final mission.
Sgt. Lennon's funeral is scheduled for Friday morning in Wesley Hills. He will be laid to rest with full military honors at the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Goshen.
