More than 100 kittens at the Hi Tor Animal Shelter in Pomona are in need of temporary foster care.
Most of the animals are too young or too sick to go up for adoption. Staff at the Pomona shelter says foster care is critical for these felines to thrive and socialize.
The shelter staff is asking potential fosters to make sure the kittens don't mingle with other animals since they "don't know what these kittens are harboring."
Officials say none of the animals will be put down. Once they come out of foster care, they will join the 150 other pets up for adoption.
Hi Tor is taking part in a "Clear the Shelters" event on Saturday, where all adoption fees will be waived.
