An orange County town official is accused of beating an elderly veteran at a Greenville deli.
Surveillance video shows Greenville Planning Board and Fire District Chairman Allen Bobb seemingly tossing an elderly veteran to the ground.
The video, given exclusively to News 12 by an anonymous tipster, shows the official shoving the victim, 70-year-old Bob Garreau, face first into a counter at the Greenville Fire House Deli on Sunday.
The victim is then seen dazed, trying to collect his belonging. As he walks out with his back turned, Bobb appears to shove the man out the door, pushing him into a moving car.
Garreau says the incident all stemmed from a parking dispute.
He says the incident landed him in the hospital and that he plans on filing a restraining order.
As for Bobb, he says the incident was self-defense.
A deli worker told News 12 that both men were throwing punches, but it is not clear who started the argument.
State police were called to the deli to investigate. They say despite the video, no charges were filed and the veteran was told not to return to the store.
