Latimer declares victory over Jenkins in county executive primary

WHITE PLAINS -

State Sen. George Latimer declared victory over Legislator Ken Jenkins in the Democratic primary for Westchester County executive Tuesday.  He will now face off against Republican Rob Astorino in November.

Latimer says he is now focused on working with Jenkins to move Westchester forward.

"Ken and I will work together to make this a better county but first, we have to work together in a campaign," he says.

Latimer has only a few weeks to turn around undecided voters.

"What they've been missing the last eight years is an administration with heart and with energy to do the right thing," he says.

A spokesperson for Astorino's campaign says, "What really matters to voters is the county executive's record of defending Westchester's middle class with tax cuts, fiscal responsibility and streamlined services."
