Town of Ramapo wants Amazon’s proposed new headquarters

Ramapo’s town supervisor wants Amazon to build its new headquarters in town.
Amazon made the surprise announcement last week that it plans to open a second office in North America, nicknamed HQ2.
Ramapo Town Supervisor Yitzy Ullman wrote a letter to Amazon's CEO expressing his interest.
He says the new headquarters could be built along Old Mill Road, replacing the old headquarters of the Novartis Pharmaceutical Company. It sits on 220 acres of land that officials believe is an ideal location for Amazon.
The new headquarters is expected to create 50,000 new high-paying jobs and cost billions to build and operate.
Ullman says he plans to fill out the proposal and hope for the best.
