WEST HAVERSTRAW -

A West Haverstraw resident is pitching in with a donation project to help hurricane victims.

Ana Paisley, of West Haverstraw, organized the four-day "Puerto Rico Strong" fundraiser.

She collected more than 40 pallets of supplies for shipment to Puerto Rico, where millions have been without electricity, water, fuel or cellphone service since the Category 4 storm hit last week, killing at least 10.

Donations were stocked at a firehouse on Railroad Avenue, and have been wrapped and readied for transport this coming weekend.

The supplies donated in West Haverstraw will be loaded onto a truck and driven to the Bronx on Saturday for transport to Puerto Rico.
