Middletown man charged in beating death

MIDDLETOWN -

A Middletown man has been charged with manslaughter for allegedly beating a homeless man to death.

Officials say Primitivo Sosa, 27, pleaded not guilty in Orange County Court on Tuesday.

They say Sosa punched the victim in the head at least 10 times last month behind St. Joseph's Cemetery in Middletown. The victim’s name has not been released

Sosa remains in jail until his next court date on Oct. 17.
