MIDDLETOWN -

A Middletown man has been arrested on charges he sexually assaulted two children during a recent home invasion in New Jersey, according to authorities.

State police say Craig Lassiter, 33, entered a Sussex County home in September, and went into a bedroom where the two children were. He then allegedly told the children he had a gun and sexually assaulted them.
Troopers responded to a 911 call, but Lassiter was able to get away. He was later arrested on Long Island.

Lassiter is facing numerous charges, including two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault on a minor less than 13 years old, two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault during the commission of a robbery and burglary, and one count of first-degree robbery while threatening to use a deadly weapon.
