Threat shuts down Salesian High SchoolPosted: Updated:
A Catholic high school in New Rochelle was closed Thursday after a student allegedly made a serious threat.
The doors were locked at Salesian High School on Main Street after an alleged verbal threat by a student who said he wanted to come to the campus and kill people.
Parents and students were first notified about the issue Wednesday in a letter that was sent out by the principal and president of the school. The letter said that a student had made verbal threats against the school and some of the students. After more threats were made a day later, the school decided to close as a precaution.
New Rochelle police say they are investigating the incident but don’t believe the threat was credible. The decision to close the school was made solely by school officials.
