NEWBURGH -

Two broom-wielding deli workers foiled an armed robbery in Newburgh Thursday in an incident that was caught on the store's security camera.

The two deli workers at Dairy Plus Express, including one who is 62 years old, sprang into action and chased the knife-wielding would-be robber out of the store.

Joe Minuta, who is running for the Orange County Legislature, was reading the paper nearby when it all happened. He called for help while customers followed the suspect.

Cinque Figueroa, 39, was later arrested and charged with attempted robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.
