The St. Maarten Strong Coalition in Prospect Lefferts Gardens is stepping up to bring relief to natural disaster-stricken areas.

Organizers at the Island to Island Brewery say they hope to raise money for 10 families in St. Maarten.

Several people at Saturday's fundraising event with family in St. Maarten say a lot of attention has gone toward Puerto Rico, but many are also suffering in their homeland.

The coalition wants to send 10 barrels of goods as well.

In the effort to raise money, organizers collected donations as well as offered a brewery tour, and sold poetry and T-shirts.
