Police are hoping some new information will help catch whoever shot and killed two young women about two weeks ago in Elizabeth.
The Union County Prosecutor’s Office released surveillance video of a dark-colored sedan they want to find in connection with the shooting deaths of the two women. They say the car was seen speeding away from the scene.
Officials say 24-year-old Shaniquah Richardson, of Elizabeth, and 22-year-old Rah-Zhane, of Roselle, were walking near Jackson Park just after 12 a.m. on Nov. 1. Investigators say shots were fired near the intersection of Second and Court streets, and both women were fatally struck by bullets.
The Union County Prosecutor’s Office and the Elizabeth Police Department are asking anyone with information on the shooting or anyone who may recognize the vehicle to contact them.
