TARRYTOWN -

A manhunt is underway for an armed suspect who robbed a bank in Tarrytown on Monday.

Investigators say the brazen robbery happened around 5:45 p.m. at the Chase Bank on South Broadway.

According to Tarrytown police, a man, between 5'5” and 5'7”, walked into the bank wearing a dark-colored mask, took out a black handgun and demanded money from the teller. They say the teller handed over an unknown amount of cash, and the suspect then fled the scene. It is unknown what direction the suspect fled.

The area around the bank was cordoned off with police tape as investigators could be seen inside and out gathering evidence. Tarrytown police say they are working with federal authorities and Westchester County police on the case.
