Police investigate apparent suicide of Monroe-Woodbury H.S. student

Police are investigating the apparent suicide of a Monroe-Woodbury High School student.
Police say the ninth-grader took his own life around 1 a.m. at his home in Chester.
Officials say they recovered a note left behind by the boy. News 12 has learned that the teen has an older sibling in 11th grade at the high school.
The district's superintendent put out a statement that did not name the student or the circumstances surrounding his death, but said information is not readily available and the school district has a support team of psychologists and counselors on hand for students and staff.
News 12 has received unconfirmed reports that bullying may be to blame.
The district has a history of student suicides and bullying.
