Hudson Valley stores prep for biggest shopping weekend

Stores in the Hudson Valley are preparing for the biggest shopping weekend of the year.
According to the National Retail Federation, more than 164 million Americans plan to shop this Thanksgiving weekend.
Some stores, like Walmart in Middletown, won't be shutting their doors.

"We're open 24 hours! We won't be closing,” says Walmart assistant manager Joanne Hammond.
Other stores like Target made the decision to change its hours. Target will be open from 6 p.m. until 12 a.m., and reopen later Friday morning. Management says it will give employees a chance to recharge and prepare the stores.

Many shoppers also plan to shop online this weekend. Adobe predicts online sales will surpass $100 billion for the first time ever.
While Walmart will offer online deals, the management in Middletown believes it won't stop people from coming into the store. Walmart will start offering its in-store holiday deals at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
