Gillibrand’s Clinton comments spur debate

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s recent remark that Chappaqua resident and former President Bill Clinton should have resigned over sexual harassment allegations is causing debate among Westchester residents.
Gillibrand spoke about Clinton during a recent interview with the New York Times.
When asked whether Bill Clinton should have stepped down as president over his relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky, she said, "Yes, I think that is the appropriate response."
The question arose amid sexual misconduct allegations against high profile people in Hollywood, members of Congress and Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore.
Gillibrand went on to say during the interview, "Things have changed today, and I think under those circumstances, there should be a very different reaction."
The senator’s comments have spurred debate in the Clintons’ hometown of Chappaqua.
"I think the statement that she made was taken a little bit out of context and I think it was a little bit of a gotcha moment,” says John Rosenblum, of Chappaqua.
