Tuckahoe rejects school district’s $20.5 million bond proposalPosted: Updated:
The village of Tuckahoe rejected a $20.5 million bond proposed by the school district.
People in the community voted 447 to 411 against the borrowing plan.
The money would have gone to pay for new classrooms and update facilities in the district.
Tuckahoe Superintendent Carl Albano says the needs of the district aren't going away, and they'll have to figure out new ways to pay for the upgrades the schools need.
