Car break-ins mar holiday season in Irvington

IRVINGTON -

A string of car break-in is ruining the holiday season for many in Irvington.

Irvington police say thieves got into several unlocked cars in the village Tuesday night.

Police are urging everyone not only lock their cars, but to make sure to bring everything into your home after shopping such as packages, pocketbooks or laptops. They say don't forget to be on extra alert when you're out shopping since thieves are often just waiting in the parking lots of malls and shopping centers, especially at night.

Over in Bronxville, police say they are seeing an uptick in holiday-related crimes such as stealing packages off porches and in some cases impersonating delivery workers.
