Vigil held for Paterson woman missing after carjacking

Loved ones held a vigil Friday afternoon in honor of a Paterson woman reported missing after a carjacking.
Friends and family of 24-year-old Shanaya Coley were joined by Paterson city officials and top members of law enforcement to pray for her safe return.
Authorities say that they believe Coley was taken after an attempted carjacking. They say that witnesses reported that Coley had been stabbed during the encounter. Coley’s glasses and blood were found at the location near Colonial Avenue.
Coley is a nurse’s aide and is the mother to a 3-year-old son.
Police said Coley was driving a 2013 Nissan Altima with New Jersey plates R74-HRX.
