Metro-North announces $90 million station upgrades

WHITE PLAINS -

Some train stations in the Hudson Valley will soon be getting upgrades.

Metro-North Railroad announced a more than $90 million contract was approved to do improvements at several stations, including Port Chester and White Plains.

The upgrades will include new signs, platforms, energy efficient LED lighting, benches with USB chargers and Wi-Fi.

Upgrades at White Plains also include improved entrances and new interior wall panels, and floor tiles.

Construction gets underway in early 2018.
