Some airlines say they are going to share some of their windfall from the new tax plan with their employees. American and Southwest plan to pay employees $1,000 bonuses, which will cost them a total of $130 million. Southwest also says it will buy more jets from Boeing.
Amazon's takeover continued to expand in 2017. Data from One Click Retail shows that the company wasresponsible for 44 percent of all U.S. e-commerce sales last year. That figure equates to about 4 percent of the country's total retail sales. The fastest growing product groups on Amazon last year included beauty products and pantry items.
A California company says that overflowing cardboard is posing a challenge to places that are tasked with recycling the material. The company told CBS News that the holiday season brings a tsunami of cardboard, and the complex process can be challenging. They are asked to sort, bundle, ship and turn the packages back into more boxes.
