Police: Hit-and-run driver strikes East Islip man

Police say they are searching for a hit-and-run driver who plowed into a man in East Islip Tuesday night.
Jorge Gomez, 36, says he was returning home from a night out with his family around 11:30 p.m. when he was struck in his driveway on Union Boulevard.
Police say the driver also hit Gomez’s vehicle and then fled the scene.  
News 12 Long Island was at Gomez’s house when he returned from the hospital at 9 a.m. Gomez says he dislocated his shoulder and received 36 stitches in his arm and hand. He told News 12 that he thought he broke every bone in his body after the impact.
Police say they are searching for a silver Nissan Altima that left car parts at the scene. News 12 asked to see video from a nearby surveillance camera that may have recorded the incident.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to call 1-800-220-TIPS.
