Community gathers at Ramapo HS to mark MLK Day

More than 150 community groups, nonprofits and local businesses joined together at Ramapo High School to mark Martin Luther King Day.
The event was held to teach people off all ages, races and backgrounds the importance of justice and peace.
Jean Fields, of Pomona, brought her grandson, Ethan, to the big event.
"In lieu of all that's going on in our national government, our federal government, I think it’s more important than ever for them to understand that we need to be together and we need to share,” she says.
Last week, President Donald Trump allegedly used profanity to describe Haiti and Africa while discussing immigration with lawmakers. Trump has repeatedly denied the allegations.
"While those comments are unfortunate.....We want to take a stand to show that we're better than that,” says Cynthia Williams, of the Rockland Coalition to End the New Jim Crow.
