Sleepy Hollow fire chief rescues deer from frozen lake

A Sleepy Hollow fire chief jumped into action to save a young deer from falling through the ice in Pocantico Hills.
Chief John Korzelius braved a sheet of ice to save the young buck Tuesday morning.
"He looked at me and I think he realized we were there to help, and when we got close to shore he kind of just relaxed," Korzelius says.
The lake on which the deer was rescued is about a mile away from the Rockefeller State Preserve, where thousands of other animals roam the woods. Korzelius believes his rescue may not be the only one this winter.
