Tuckahoe residents claim Con Ed didn’t notify them before construction

Some residents in Tuckahoe are frustrated by a construction project on Midland Avenue that they claim they were not notified about.
Con Edison started construction earlier this week for a gas main project. The utility says the project could last up to 10 weeks.

Deborah Derenzis, who has lived on Midland Avenue in the village of Tuckahoe for almost a decade, says she has to ask permission when she leaves her house. Although the workers have been kind enough to let her out when she asks, she says she doesn't understand why she wasn't notified about the project from the beginning.
“It would be nice if they just let us know ahead of time,” she says.

When News 12 reached out to Tuckahoe's village administrator, he said Con Ed did give a heads up by hand-delivering notifications along with emails and a reverse 911 call.
