Thousands of women across the nation made their voices heard Saturday during numerous women's marches.
The first march was held last year, in conjunction with President Donald Trump's inauguration.
News 12 caught up with a group of young women who were at the South Norwalk train station, ready to embark on a trip to march in New York City. They said it's important to be involved in the movement.
"Sexism and horrible events have been happening to us – at our schools, in our town, with people that we know," said Niamh McCarthy. "I just really want to go out there and show people that's not ok."
It's a cause, the group says, they are willing to fight for to make sure generations after them are treated fairly.
