A Nassau police officer saved an elderly woman from a fire in Mineola Saturday.

Investigators say residents were evacuating the Lincoln Avenue building Saturday night when they discovered a 97-year-old woman trapped in her apartment.

News 12 is told Officer Martone ran through the smoke and was able to get the woman to safety.

The officer and three other residents were treated for smoke inhalation.
