Swastika, lewd images spray-painted outside Oceanside homes

A swastika and other lewd images were found scrawled outside two South Shore homes Wednesday morning.
The blue spray-painted graffiti was found on Lincoln Avenue on the sidewalk and on a fence on the property of Sherry Hubert, of Oceanside.
Hubert suspects it was the work of neighborhood kids, who are off from school this week.
"They were out goofing around I guess, but this is not something you really want to goof around with," she said.
Neighbor Paul Tucci says whoever scrawled the lewd and hateful graffiti also did physical damage to his property. He says "parents should be held accountable" if it was the work of young people in the neighborhood.
Nassau police say they are investigating the graffiti as a biased incident.
State Sen. Todd Kaminsky, who represents Oceanside and the surrounding community, released a statement that reads in part, "Swastikas and other graffiti have absolutely no place in our community. These cowardice acts of hatred will not be tolerated."
Anyone with information about the incident is urged by authorities to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
