FL sheriff investigating LI man who admitted to NYC rapes

A Hempstead man who admitted to raping two unconscious women in New York City may have additional unwitting victims in Florida, police say.
Florida authorities say Cameron McDermott, 32, may have committed additional sex crimes there.
He was arrested last January in the garage of his Hempstead apartment for allegedly exposing himself to several women over a four-month period. Police say that when they executed a search warrant of his home, they found video files on his computer showing him repeatedly raping unconscious women in Manhattan in 2010 and 2013.
Police say the victims were drugged and didn't even know they'd been raped until investigators told them about the videos.
Florida authorities say they're concerned because New York detectives found files labeled "Florida" on McDermott's computer that allegedly show him luring women and children. Police in the Sunshine State are investigating whether McDermott sexually assaulted anyone there.
The Martin County Sheriff's Department wrote in a Facebook post that McDermott was at his family's home in Vero Beach last June -- just days before he was arrested in New York on rape charges. The department says it's possible that women who had a relationship with him in Florida may be unaware that they are victims of a sex crime.
Martin County detectives are asking anyone who may have had contact with McDermott at a local nightclub or online dating service to call them.
