Gnome village delights park visitors
Nestled in the trees of Mill Pond Park is a gnome village, and it’s attracting visitors of all ages.
The unique display is the creation of Andy Kuzma. It all started with some fairy doors and a Tinkerbell figurine that inspired Kuzma to start the exhibit.
“I was just doing this for peace of mind relaxation,” says Kuzma.
Kuzma grew up in Bellmore and often visited the park as a kid.
“I guess it's kind of the little boy in me that came out for inspiration," he says.
The village is adorned with figurines, rocks and other odds and ends. The community has been contributing some creative touches as well, like a display a child dropped off this week.
And passersby love taking it all in.
“It's great,” said Patrick Clark, of Wantagh. “My daughter loves it. We see it four times a week. Andy is doing a great job keep it up."
“I think it's nice,” Bellmore’s Joe Alaqua told News 12 Long Island. “It's good for the kids. It's a cute little piece of art."
Kuzma says he is overwhelmed and honored that his gnome village is bringing more fun to the park. He plans to continue his project through the spring.
