Some families who were forced to leave their pets in Puerto Rico to come to the mainland after Hurricane Maria are finally being reunited with their furry friends.

For months, heartbroken families were separated by more than 1,500 from their pets because of the devastating storm.

Their pets arrived today at Morristown Airport, thanks to St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center in Madison. The pets were then transported to St. Hubert's, where they were reunited with some of their owners. Other pets are being flown and driven to their families all over the country.

John Paul Kiesel's mother lost everything to the storm and couldn't afford to bring her pets to the mainland, but thanks to St. Hubert's Lola the boxer and Tom the cat will be with their mom once again.
