A man was charged with second-degree murder Wednesday in a fatal shooting in Tarrytown.
Cynell Brown, 28, allegedly shot and killed 34-year-old Jessica Wiltse Tuesday.
Officials say police descended on the Sleepy Hollow Gardens Complex at 177 White Plains Road around 7 a.m. Tuesday and found Wiltse semi-conscious and bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds. She later died at Westchester Medical Center.
Investigators say Brown, who they describe as homeless, was trying to buy a ticket out of town at the Port Authority Bus Terminal when police apprehended later that day.
Investigators say Brown has a prior record for a drug-related charge out of Greenburgh.
The shooting led to the lockout of several Westchester County school districts Tuesday.
